Buggy safari from Belek for groups and friends: how to plan it

Each buggy carries one driver and one passenger, so the number of buggies your group needs equals the number of people who will drive. Everyone pays: drivers €35 on the 18 km route or €43 on the 28 km route, passengers half of that. Book the whole group in one form so you all ride the same session, or write to us on WhatsApp first if your party is a larger one.

Count drivers, not heads

The simplest way to plan a group is to start with the drivers. A buggy takes one person at the wheel and one beside them, never more, so each driver means one buggy. Put the other way round, a group can never have more passengers than drivers: every passenger needs a seat next to someone who is steering.

Once you know who wants to drive, the rest of the group fills the passenger seats, at most one per buggy. If more people want to ride along than there are drivers, someone else has to take a wheel, or the plan needs another look before you book.

  • 4 friends, all of them drive: 4 buggies
  • 4 friends, 2 of them drive: 2 buggies, each with a passenger
  • 5 friends, 2 of them drive: one seat short, so a third driver is needed

Everyone in the group pays

There is no group of any size in which someone rides free. Each person who takes part pays: the driver's fare at the wheel and half of it in the passenger seat. A friend who joins the trip only to watch is counted too.

The fare is per person and depends on the route the group chooses. Reserving takes no money at all; fares are settled in euros once the safari date comes round.

  • Short route (18 km): driver €35, passenger €17.50
  • Long route (28 km): driver €43, passenger €21.50

Every would-be driver takes the test ride

Drivers must be 16 or older and show an ID. No driving licence is needed, because the route is a private off-road course, not a public road. Before the start, the compulsory test ride waits for each would-be driver, and it is a genuine check. Pass it and you take the wheel; fall short of it, or change your mind about steering, and you ride as a half-price passenger.

For a group this has a practical consequence. If a friend who planned to drive ends up as a passenger, that person needs an empty passenger seat beside another driver, so it is worth keeping that possibility in mind rather than counting every seat as taken.

Booking a group in one go

A group books in one form: choose the route, the date and the morning or afternoon session, then enter the drivers and passengers together. That keeps everyone on the same session, and we confirm the pickup time the day before. Online bookings start from tomorrow; for a ride on the same day, get in touch on WhatsApp.

For a larger party, or if you are unsure how to split the seats, send a WhatsApp message first so the seating can be worked out together. If friends are staying at different hotels, mention it when you book. Round-trip transfer is included from 15 areas, among them Belek, Kadriye, Boğazkent, Lara, Kundu, Antalya and Konyaaltı; for a hotel elsewhere, check with us before booking.

The day for a group

Everyone in the booking rides the same session. The programme takes about 4–4.5 hours from hotel to hotel, including the transfer, the safety briefing and the test ride, and the drive from the Belek area to the course is around 35–40 minutes, depending on the hotel. Average pickup times are 09:20 or 14:20 for Belek and 09:00 or 14:00 for Kadriye; your own time is confirmed the day before, at the main entrance of your hotel.

The course lies in the Aspendos countryside, along the Köprüçay river, and takes in forest tracks, dusty open ground and shallow river sections; mud turns up when conditions allow but is never guaranteed. The helmet is the only kit included. Tell everyone to bring their own sunglasses, old clothes and closed shoes, plus a bandana if they would like cover from the dust.

Teenagers, non-drivers and anyone sitting it out

Friends aged 16 and 17 can drive once they complete the test ride; younger members of the group ride as passengers beside an adult driver. Under-4s are not recommended, because a small child can find it hard to hold on safely.

The safari is also not recommended during pregnancy or for anyone with back or neck problems. A friend in that position may prefer to spend the time at the hotel; if they travel out with the group anyway, they are counted and pay like everyone else.

Questions

Questions about this safari

Is there a maximum group size?
Before booking, pass your head count to our WhatsApp line; the reply will cover what your chosen date allows.
Do all of us have to stay at the same hotel?
No. Tell us each hotel when you book; transfer is included from the 15 areas on our list, and pickup times are confirmed the day before.
What happens if one of our drivers does not pass the test ride?
That person rides as a half-price passenger instead, so they need an empty passenger seat beside another driver.
What if our group gets smaller?
You can cancel at no cost up to 48 hours before the start. If only some people drop out, let us know on WhatsApp as early as you can.
