Belek is where you are collected, not where you ride
Searching for a buggy safari in Belek makes sense, because Belek is where many holidaymakers stay and where the pickup run calls. The riding itself happens somewhere else. The resort strip, its hotels and its beach are not where the buggies run, and the safari does not drive through Belek town or along its shore.
Think of Belek as the pickup belt. A transfer collects you from your hotel's main entrance, at a time confirmed the day before, and takes you out of the resort area to the course. At the end of the route it brings you back the same way, and the round trip is included in the price.
Being clear about this matters for a practical reason: it tells you what the transfer is for, and what you will find when you arrive.
The Aspendos countryside along the Köprüçay
The course lies in the Aspendos area, on natural land beside the Köprüçay river, known in antiquity as the Eurymedon. Aspendos is best known for its ancient Roman theatre, which is a handy landmark for placing the area on a map. The theatre is mentioned here only to help you find your bearings; the safari is an off-road ride, not a sightseeing tour.
Because the course is private off-road land rather than a public road, drivers aged 16 and over do not need a driving licence. Every driver still takes the compulsory test ride before setting off.
What the ground is like
The route combines three kinds of terrain, and you will meet all of them:
Mud appears when conditions allow and is never guaranteed, and the same is true of how much water the river sections carry. Short route or long, it is the same course: the short route is 18 km, and the long one covers 10 km more, 28 km in total.
- Forest tracks, where the convoy winds between the trees
- Dusty open ground, where every buggy raises its own cloud
- Shallow river sections
How long the drive takes
From the Belek area the drive to the course is around 35–40 minutes, depending on the hotel. That is the only drive time we give. Guests from Lara, Kundu, Antalya city and Konyaaltı to the west, or from Side and Manavgat to the east, are also collected with the transfer included, but no drive time has been measured from those areas, so we do not quote one.
Six areas have average pickup times, for the morning and the afternoon session:
These are averages; your own time is confirmed the day before. Hotel to hotel, the whole programme takes about 4–4.5 hours, including the transfer, the briefing and the test ride.
- Konyaaltı: 08:00 / 13:00
- Lara: 08:30 / 13:30
- Kundu: 08:45 / 13:45
- Kadriye: 09:00 / 14:00
- Belek: 09:20 / 14:20
- Boğazkent: 09:35 / 14:35
Morning or afternoon: two sessions on the same ground
Each day brings a morning session and an afternoon session, and both are ridden on the same land along the Köprüçay. The pickup run works along the coast from west to east, starting in Konyaaltı and finishing in Boğazkent, which is why the average times above step later area by area.
Whichever session you choose, the course, the terrain and the two route lengths stay the same. Pick the one that fits your holiday day best; neither comes with a promise about weather or ground conditions.
Why the course is not in Belek
A resort area built around hotels and beaches is no place for a convoy of off-road buggies. The ground that makes the safari worth doing, from forest tracks and loose dusty earth to river sections you can drive through, is found in the countryside inland, which is why the course sits on the land along the Köprüçay.
For you, that means the day has two parts: a transfer out of the resort area, and the ride on the course. Knowing this in advance saves you from looking for buggies near the beach.
If your hotel is outside the fifteen pickup areas (Belek, Kadriye, Boğazkent, Lara, Kundu, Antalya, Muratpaşa, Konyaaltı, Side, Manavgat, Evrenseki, Kumköy, Çolaklı, Gündoğdu and Kızılot), ask us on WhatsApp before booking.
